Danida Business Egypt

Danida has been supporting Egypt since 1997. Egypt has come a long way and only four programs remain in the country: Danida Business Finance, Danida Business Explorer, Danida Business Partnerships and Business-to-Business.

Danida Business Finance (DBF)

DBF offers subsidized loans to infrastructure projects in our priority countries. The projects must contribute to sustainable and development in the recipient country. The main sectors are transportation, energy, water supply and sanitation.
Our main focus is to make sure that all money is spent on sustainable and green developments. The loans take form as interest-free loans for the financing of equipment and related technical assistance for projects in developing countries. The loans have to be paid back in full by the borrower, and maturity is normally 10 years.

Danida Business Partnerships and Business-to-Business
The Business-to-business programs where made to develop the private sector by supporting the establishment of long-term and mutually committing partnerships between Danish companies and companies in developing countries. It was later replaced by Danida Business Partnerships.

Danida Business Partnerships was designed to reduce poverty through sustainable agreements between Danish companies and local partners. The transfer of know-how and technology made local companies more competitive while raising the par for employee life standards.

Both programs are now suspended as of 10 November 2014, but we will carry out existing agreements already begun will be completed. The Danish government is working on a new program that will be revealed by the end of the year.
